The 𝗦𝗦𝗘 global 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 expects to reach $𝟳.𝟲 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 by 2023. The partnership was made on October 25 during South Korea's major maritime tech event at the 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (BEXCO). The NEWBORN project will be exploring and developing a new generation of hydrogen fuel cells for the planes of the future. The goal is to create a megawatt propulsion system that uses hydrogen as its energy source, resulting in only water vapor as the sole byproduct. Aim of the project is to demonstrate the scalable fuel cell power source technology as 1MW modules, which can be paralleled to exceed the 3 MW power levels. This project will involve collaboration between 13 partners from 10 European countries.
