Household subsidies to help cut costs, drive down emissions

Megan Woods says it is a win for environment and households.

Labour says it would subsidise the retrofitting of houses built before 2008.

The Labour Party is promising rebates of up to $18,000 for homeowners who switch from gas to electricity, instal insulation, and double glaze their homes.

Labour’s building and construction and energy and resources spokesperson Megan Woods announced the policy in Christchurch today.
